Our Story

About The Padel Shed

A one-of-a-kind indoor padel court in the Herefordshire countryside — on a working farm near the village of Weobley.

The Story

From Potato Shed to Padel Court

What was once a potato storage shed storing 3,000 tons of potatoes on our working farm near Weobley has been lovingly transformed into Herefordshire's most unique padel venue. The conversion keeps all the character of the original building while giving it a completely new purpose.

The idea was simple: bring the fast-growing sport of padel to North West Herefordshire in a setting that's truly one of a kind. No sterile sports centre. No busy car park. Just great padel in stunning countryside, 16 hours a day.

Whether you're a complete beginner who's never held a padel racquet, or an experienced player looking for a regular game — you'll feel at home at The Padel Shed.

Built to Last

Not Just Fast-Growing — Sustainable Too

Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world — but we wanted The Padel Shed to be more than that. Between our solar-powered roof, repurposed furniture and fittings throughout the building, and an unbeatable Herefordshire countryside view, we think this might be one of the most sustainable — and unique — padel venues anywhere in the UK.

Solar Powered

Energy From
Our Own Roof

Solar panels on the roof of The Padel Shed help power the building — reducing our reliance on the grid and keeping the venue running more sustainably, day in, day out.

It's a small part of a bigger picture: proving that a genuinely great sports facility doesn't have to cost the earth to run.

Repurposed, Not New

Given a
Second Life

The majority of the furniture and fittings around The Padel Shed and Courtside Coffee have been repurposed rather than bought new — from reclaimed wood to salvaged fixtures throughout the building.

It keeps the character of the original farm building alive, while cutting down on waste. Sustainable, characterful, and completely one of a kind.

  • Recycled wooden potato storage boxes — used for wall furnishings, cupboards, the shed wall partition, shelving, and sign framework.
  • Repurposed metal framework — given a second life as wooden tables.
  • Repurposed water tanks — now flower troughs, filled with farmyard manure and tree-pruning enhanced compost.
  • Repurposed Belfast sink — now the shed's handwash basin.
  • Repurposed sofas, café tables and chairs — sourced second-hand via Facebook Marketplace.
  • Storm-fallen oak trees — remade into benches, work surfaces, light fitting supports, a coffee table, and the welcome entrance side table.
  • Repurposed wooden pallets — used for outdoor steps and cupboard fittings.
  • Wildflowers — planted alongside the outdoor seating area.
  • Solar-powered energy — both inside and outside. Our roof-mounted solar panels generate up to 48kW per hour at full capacity on sunny days.
  • Wildflower field margins — bordering the working farm, creating wildlife havens and supporting pollinating insects for our cider apple orchards, livestock fields and cereal crops.
